Fetomaternal outcome in pregnant females having overweight body mass index during last trimester

Abstract
Objective: To determine feto-maternal outcome in pregnant females having overweight body mass index during last trimester.
Methodology: This descriptive case study was done at the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Services Hospital, from 1st January 2023 to 30th June 2023 and enrolled 265 females. They were assessed for the presence of PIH and gestational diabetes and followed up for delivery and fetomaternal outcome was noted. Data were analyzed on SPSS version 21.
Result: Mean age of females was 26.37±5.43 years, and the mean BMI was 27.40±1.42 kg/m2. PIH was noted in 30.7% and GDM, CS, stillbirth, shoulder dystocia, and macrosomia were found in 48%, 38.9%, 4.1%, 12.0%, and 4.1%, respectively.
Conclusion: The most common feto-maternal outcome was GDM followed by CS delivery, PIH, stillbirth, shoulder dystocia, and macrosomia among females with overweight BMI during last trimester.
