Abstract
Objective: To compare the effect of skipping and regular personalized healthy breakfast on the hematological parameters, C-reactive protein, and lipid profile in young female adults.
Methodology: This experimental randomized controlled trial of 6 weeks included 30 young healthy females of 18-30 years of age at Islamic International Medical College. Subjects were randomized into 2 groups with 15 in each group. Detailed history with dietary patterns regarding breakfast was assessed through a Lifestyle medicine questionnaire. One group skipped breakfast and the other group was advised to have a personalized healthy breakfast for 6 weeks. Blood samples were taken to estimate CBC, Lipid profile, and C-reactive protein before and after the intervention. SPSS 25 software was used to analyze the data. Paired sample t-tests were used to compare the means of the two groups.
Results: Blood CBC showed no significant difference between the two groups. The value of C-reactive protein was high in skipped breakfast group as compared to healthy breakfast group (p- 0.05). The lipid profile was insignificant in two groups except for the serum HDL levels, which was high in healthy breakfast group as compared to skipped breakfast group (p=0.016).
Conclusion: A healthy personalized breakfast can improve HDL and C-reactive protein levels. Therefore, community health experts should advocate the role of healthy breakfasts in young adults by advising healthy and personalized breakfasts.

Key words: Breakfast, female adults, lipid profile, C-reactive protein.
