Abstract
Objective: To compare intraocular pressure variations among emmetropes and myopes in age group 15-35 years.
Methodology: This cross-sectional study was conducted at university of Lahore Teaching Hospital from February 2022 to May 2022 and included 182 patients. All patients had a C/D ratio less than 0.5. Intraocular pressure was measured by Goldman applanation tonometer. Data were analyzed by SPSS-25 Independent sample T test was applied to compare results with p-value equal to or less than 0.05 taken as significant.
Results: Out of 182 patients, 55 were emmetrope patient and 127 myopic. Out of 182 patients, 23(41.8%) were emmetrope male and 32(58.2%) emmetrope female. 57 (44.9%) were myopic male and 70(55.1%) myopic females. Low myopic participants were 55, moderate myopic 48 and high myopic 24. Mean IOP of emmetropes was 14.53+ 4.03, mean IOP of low myopes was 14.91+ 2.92, moderate myopes was 16.43+3.02 and high myopes had 16.45 + 3.80 mean IOP. Emmetropes and myopes had p value of 0.414. Emmetropes and moderate myopes had p value of 0.014. Emmetropes and high myopes had p value of 0.034. There was significant difference between moderate and high myopes. However there was no significant difference between emmetropes and low myopes.
Conclusion: Intraocular pressure in myopia patients varies with different degrees of myopia.

Key words: Intraocular pressure, myopia, emmetropia.
