Role of Social Network Behavior and Medical Issues Faced by Hemophilic Patients: A Cross Sectional Study of Children Hospital Multan, Pakistan

Abstract
ABSTRACT
Objective: To determine the social network behavior and medical issues faced by hemophilic patients in Children Hospital Multan, Pakistan.
Methodology: This cross sectional study was conducted in Children Hospital Multan, Pakistan during February 2019-May-2019. N=300 mothers of hemophilic patients were interviewed through de-facto sampling technique.
Results: The results of the analysis shows that the behavior of social network i.e. class fellows (N=161, 53.7%, p=0.011<.05), relatives (N=187, 62.3%, p=0.003<.05) and siblings (N=147, 49.0%, p=0.034<.05) with the hemophilic patients was normal. N=201 (67.0%, p=0.000<.001) mothers shows that bleeding occur in the body of their children >3 times in a month from any part of their body (N= 116, 38.7%, p=0.005<.05). N=125 (41.7%) mothers of hemophilic patients argued that the physicians declared the patients physical condition was severely ill and they feel damaged about their body system such as physiological pains, emotional distress and anxiety (N=170, 56.7%).
Conclusion: In conclusion, social network behavior and medical issues affects the hemophilic patients in the study vicinity. Provision of financial support, along with awareness campaigns through seminars and conferences can decrease the socio-psychological and medical burden from hemophilic patients.
