Abstract
Objective: To compare D-Dimer levels between hysterectomy patients due to benign and malignant lesions and evaluate the relationship between postoperative D-Dimer levels with bleeding volume, duration of surgery, and tumor classification.
Methods: This analytical observational study involved 40 patients who underwent hysterectomy at Dr. Soetomo Hospital and Airlangga University Hospital Surabaya. D-Dimer examination was performed before surgery and 7–10 days after surgery. Data were analyzed with appropriate statistical tests using SPSS version 25.

Results: The mean preoperative D-Dimer levels in the benign and malignant groups were 1139.5 ng/mL and 952.8 ng/mL, respectively; postoperatively 1016.1 ng/mL and 869.4 ng/mL. There was no significant difference between the two groups (p>0.05). In addition, there was no significant relationship between postoperative D-Dimer levels and the amount of bleeding, duration of surgery, or tumor classification (p>0.05).
Conclusion: There was no significant difference in D-Dimer levels between patients with benign and malignant lesions after hysterectomy, and there was no relationship between postoperative D-Dimer levels and bleeding volume, duration of surgery, or tumor classification.

Key words: Hysterectomy, D-Dimer, venous thrombosis.
