Drug induced liver injury

Abstract
Liver is an organ with enormous metabolic activity going on all the time. Many of the drugs and other substances that we consume go into the body through the liver. During this process, many of the drugs can affect and injure the liver. The drugs most commonly causing the liver injury are anti tuberculous drugs, anti epileptic drugs, various antibiotics and pracetamol.1-3 Several herbal supplements used all over the world have been implicated in causing Drug-induced liver injury (DILI).

Key words: DILI, toxic hepatitis, transaminitis.
