Post insertion complaints associated with acrylic partial denture prosthesis in private and public dental institutes of Punjab, Pakistan

Abstract
Objective: To identify various post-insertion complaints associated with acrylic partial denture prostheses in private and public dental institutes in Punjab, Pakistan.
Methodology: This cross-sectional survey was carried out at the prosthodontic department of three private and two public dental institutes of Punjab from January to September 2022. One hundred fifty participants agreed to participate and were selected using convenience sampling. A questionnaire was administered and, later, proceeded with the clinical evaluation and management of the patients. Data were analyzed through SPSS 25.
Results: There was a statistically significant difference in satisfaction with dentures regarding the duration of use. Changes in eating habits while using partial denture prostheses were reported in 45.3% (n=68) of the respondents, 24% (n=36) reported no change, and 30.7% (n=46) were unsure.
Conclusion: Most patients opted for removable partial denture prostheses for both aesthetics and function. Nearly half of the respondents experienced a change in their diet and eating habits while using partial denture prostheses.
