Abstract
Objective: To find the sensitivity and specificity of plain radiography and computed tomography in diagnosis of pelvic fractures.
Methodology: This descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted at Ghurki Trust Teaching Hospital Lahore, from August to December 2021. It included 137 patients with pelvic fractures. All had CT and plain Radiography whose results were then compared
Results: Computed tomography detected pelvic fractures more accurately than conventional radiography. X-ray diagnostic accuracy was 90.5% and had a higher risk of false negative and false positive findings than computed tomography.
Conclusion: X-rays had high specificity and low sensitivity compared to computed tomography. Plain radiographic imaging is particularly prone to pass up a great opportunity to diagnose a fracture of the back, pelvic ring, break of S5 vertebra, fracture of the femoral neck, and fracture of illopubic eminence.

Key words: Computed tomography, plain radiography, diagnostic accuracy, road traffic accident.
