Abstract
Traumatic Knee dislocation is very uncommon in children and mostly seen in adults after skeletal maturity. The incidence of knee dislocations is probably underreported because 20% patient knee dislocations are reduced spontaneously. However, reported incidence has been as high as 50%. Mechanism of knee dislocation varies from low to high energy trauma. Knee hyperextension is most common in both velocity mechanisms. It is most commonly associated with fractures. Patient usually present with severe pain and swelling or effusion if reduced spontaneously. If unreduced, knee is placed in deformed position. Incidence of associated vascular injury ranges from 7-64% and nerve injury is 14-35%. Knee dislocation is real emergency in orthopaedic that should be reduced even without getting radiograph. We report a case that has not been reported in orthopedic literature in this age group.

Key words: Knee dislocation, Common peroneal injury, birth trauma
