Abstract
Objective: To investigate the effectiveness of Mulligan’s mobilization with movement (MWM) and Myofascial release on pain, range of motion and functional abilities in patients with knee osteoarthritis.
Methodology: A purposive sample of 30 patients from two major hospitals of Faisalabad was randomly divided into two treatment groups. Group A, received Mulligan’s MWM and group B received Myofascial release. Electrotherapy and exercise program was the same for both groups. The interventional program was of two weeks (five days a week, once a day). Pain and range of motion were measured before starting the treatment and at the end of 1st, 4th, 7th, and 10th sessions. SPSS version 20 was used for data analysis.
Results: There was a significant improvement (p<0.05) in all three parameters in both groups. Reduction of pain was more in group A (p<0.05). Range of motion also improved more in group A but the reduction of stiffness and improvement of physical function seen more in group B (p<0.05).
Conclusion: Both Mulligan’s MWM and Myofascial release were effective for knee osteoarthritis in terms of pain, range of motion, and for functional abilities. However, Mulligan’s MWM produced more quick outcomes than Myofascial release.

Key words: Knee Osteoarthritis, Mulligan’s mobilization with movement, Myofascial release.
