Effectiveness of task oriented training in improving upper limb function after stroke

Abstract
Objective: To determine effectiveness of task oriented training in improving upper limb function in post stroke patients.
Methodology: This Randomized Control Trial was conducted from March 2015 to March2016 and included 43 post stroke patients. 22 patients were allocated in experimental group and 21 in control group by doing random sampling using coin toss method. Data were collected by using upper extremity items of motor assessment scale (MAS). One group received standard therapy for 4 weeks and the other group received additional task oriented training 2 hours daily for 6 weeks. 38 patients completed the study with 5 drop outs. After four weeks, data were analyzed using SPSS version 20.
